Bernard, pastor of the 18,000-member Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York, has added, “The film leaves the viewer gasping at the reality of Christ's sacrifice for the sins of mankind. Very few will leave this movie without being compelled to reread the Gospels to see if these things are true!" Bishop TD Jakes, who in 2001 was featured on the cover of Time Magazine and named “America’s Best Preacher” so strongly supports the film, his ministry plans to help spread the word about it to its 28,000 members as quickly as possible. Urban support for the film was also in the form of private VIP screenings held at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles pastored by Dr. Fredrick K.C. Price and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, pastored by Bishop Eddie Long.
Icon recognized the significant role religion plays within the urban community and tapped into the expertise of public relations firm A.
