Company description::
BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND, 12th May 2004 - DiscoverMiddleEarth.co.uk has its official launch this weekend at the annual Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill, Birmingham. The website is designed to celebrate the life of Tolkien in England and show Lord of the Ring’s fans the genuine locations in England that inspired the writer when writing his epic trilogy and other Middle-Earth stories.

Visitors to the site can journey through an online trail into the life of JRR. Tolkien in England and learn about the important places from his life and experiences in Birmingham, Oxford, Warwickshire and Lancashire's Ribble Valley. Through original photography the trail shows how these locations provided inspiration for the likes of the Shire, the Two Towers, Sauron's Temple in Numenor, Misty Mountains and the Barrow Downs.

DiscoverMiddleEarth.co.uk is the official website of the DME Partnership set up by two brothers, Richard (24) and Tom Greenwood (21). During 2003 and 2004 the brother’s travelled throughout much of Middle-England to Oxford, Warwickshire, Birmingham and Lancashire's Ribble Valley photographing and researching the life of JRR Tolkien in England and discovering the locations that inspired him when writing the Lord of the Rings and creating Middle-Earth.

As well as creating the website and online Tolkien Trail, the brother’s have also created a 2005 Wall Calendar, titled, “Discover England’s Two Tower’s” which features original full colour photography of all the sites in England featured on the online trail.

The website is having it’s official launch this weekend, May 15th-16th at the Annual Tolkien Weekend at Sarehole Mill in Birmingham where they will be selling the calendar and photographic prints. The Tolkien Weekend is now in it’s fifth year and is a free weekend of events and displays organised by a partnership of the Tolkien Society, Birmingham City Council and local conservation groups. This weekend shows visitors the Mill and surroundings where Tolkien spent some of his early years. Last year saw 5000 visitors including some from Europe and the USA and this year is expected to be the biggest yet.

The calendar is also available online, priced £6.99 including postage within the UK and can be ordered internationally.
